The NextEra Energy Resources 250 is the first race of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Daytona International Speedway and since 2004 has been held under the lights. This is the Speedweeks World Truck Driving Series event - the name used to describe a series of races that lead to the Daytona 500.

Pemenang acara termasuk Mike Wallace, Joe Ruttman, Robert Pressley, Rick Crawford, Carl Edwards, Bobby Hamilton, Mark Martin, Jack Sprague, Todd Bodine, Timothy Peters, Michael Waltrip, John King, Johnny Sauter, Kyle Busch, Tyler Reddick, dan Kaz Grala.

The Camping World Truck Series does not run the limiting plates, the devices used by Xfinity stock cars and the Sprint Cup to reduce horsepower and slow down cars in Daytona and Talladega. However, the divider in space, "spacer plate", and aerodynamic losses on the truck offset the lack of bounding plates.

Histori

The premiere of the race in 2000 featured one of the most gruesome accidents in NASCAR history. After halfway through the race road, Kurt Busch's truck made contact with Rob Morgan, turning it into a Geoff Bodine truck, sending Bodine to the wall and catching the fence just past the finish line. Bodine's truck caught fire and flipped at least 10 times before stopping towards Turn 1, causing a major accident involving 13 trucks. Despite a serious injury, Bodine survived and ran again later that year in May in Richmond. Although this race was largely overshadowed by this accident, it was really exciting when Mike Wallace made the last lap on Andy Houston for the inaugural victory.

In 2001, Joe Ruttman was the first rider to win from pole position. He also won a pole the year before. Rookie Ricky Hendrick finished second.

The 2003 race featured an exciting 3rd-place finish in the finals between Rick Crawford, defending Daytona Robert Pressley winner, and last year's champion Travis Kvapil where the margin of victory was 0.027 seconds.

In early 2004, they announced that the race would move from Friday afternoon to Friday night and run under the lights. Carl Edwards will continue to win the race and Travis Kvapil (at Toyota) ranks second. The race is Toyota's first truck race.

Kerry Earnhardt started from pole in the 2005 race, but ended on the 35th due to an accident. Bobby Hamilton won from the 36th start position, the furthest starting position for the driver to win.

In 2007, the other big 3rd difference between Travis Kvapil, Johnny Benson, and Jack Sprague who won the race; the margin of victory is 0.031 seconds (the second closest finish). Sprague is the third rider to win from the pole.

The 2009 race was the first under the new sponsor of Camping World. Todd Bodine won the first rider to win the open season truck race at the Daytona International Speedway; Kyle Busch finished second in both races. Also, Todd Bodine won the 2009 race without a sponsor. Six days after the race, fifth-placed finisher Ron Hornaday docked 25 points and owner DeLana Harvick docked 25 owner points as punishment for the illegal shocks used in the race. Rick Ren's crew chief was placed on probation and fined $ 5,000 for a foul.

The 2011 run was held on the tenth anniversary of the death of Dale Earnhardt in Daytona 500 2001. Michael Waltrip, who won the famous 500, was pulled from the slot passing the last round on Elliott Sadler to win the first Camping World Truck race in No. 15 truck, such as the Sprint car number Cup, with his brother Darrell in the broadcast booth once more. This will be one of the most emotional trucking events in the series history. Michael also became the 22nd rider to win all NASCARs over 3 divisions (he also has 11 Nationwide victories and 4 Sprint Cup wins). But his truck failed the post-race inspection because the right side of the spoiler was jerked, so the team was punished, but kept winning because Waltrip did not run for points, under NASCAR's new rule to choose a draw to go to the championship.
