Wallace Arnold was founded in 1912 and named according to its founders Wallace Cunningham and Arnold Crowe.
In February 1969, Evan Evans's tour business in London was purchased. In the late 1970s, Wallace Arnold started an operation service under the banner of Euroways to Europe.
In 1980 it operated 290 trainers from its headquarters in Leeds, and had a subsidiary based in Devon.
When the coach service was deregulated by the 1980 Transportation Act in October 1980, Wallace Arnold was a founding member of the British Coachways consortium that competed with the state-owned National Express. It goes after a year and briefly runs its own service from London to Torbay.
This business is owned by Barr & amp; Wallace Arnold Trust. In 1997, Wallace Arnold was sold to 3i.
In April 1994, the company got blasphemy, when five of their fleets, carrying all the spectators from the episode Do not Forget Your Toothbrush to Disneyland Paris, after two spectators were selected to win the "Light Your Lemon" Game.
In April 2005, Wallace Arnold joined Shearings into the WA Shearings. In 2007, the name of Wallace Arnold was dropped and now the company is known as Shearings Holidays. The merger includes eight travel shops in Yorkshire, renamed from Wallace Arnold Travel to WA Shearings. It keeps the name of WA Shearings until 2010, when they return to the original name of Wallace Arnold Travel.

Wallace Arnold is the largest operator of Bedford VAL 3 bus trainers. After being a Leyland Leopard customer and a large Volvo B58, in the following years the standards are Volvo B10M and Volvo B12Ms, mostly with Jonckheere and Plaxton bodies.
