The refrigerator truck is a van or truck designed to carry flammable items at a certain temperature. Like refrigerator cars, refrigerated trucks differ from simple insulated and ventilated vans (generally used for carrying fruit), both of which are not equipped with cooling equipment. Cooling trucks can be ice cooled, equipped with any of the various mechanical cooling systems supported by small displacement diesel engines, or utilizing carbon dioxide (either as dry ice or in liquid form) as cooling agents.
Most of the long-distance refrigerated transport by truck is carried out in an articulated truck that pulls the cooled semi-cool trailer. The study was conducted on an additional fuel cell power unit.
The first successful mechanical cooling trucks were successfully introduced by the ice cream industry around 1925. There are about 4 million refrigerated road vehicles used in 2010 around the world.
