Biography

Jackson "Jax" Teller is the son of Gemma and John Teller and was born in 1978, and grew up in Charming, California. His father died in 1993 and his mother remarried with Clay Morrow, who later became President of Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original (SAMCRO). He lived with a genetic heart defect ("family defect" as Gemma called it) that Thomas Teller "Tommy" his brother (January 8, 1984 - April 4, 1990) died at the age of six. He was carrying a USMC KA-BAR fighter knife even though his father served in the United States Army (25th Infantry Division).

At the beginning of the series, Jax serves as Vice President of the club, and works as a mechanic at Teller-Morrow Automotive Repair. He has been serving time in prison for smuggling and gun shooting. His final arrest was in 2013/4. He married Wendy Case, but filed for divorce because of his drug habit. After Wendy's clean, they reconciled and conceived a son, Abel. Overwhelmed with the idea of being a father and tired of fighting with Wendy, Jax leaves his pregnant wife, allowing her to continue living in her home when she moves to the clubhouse. Left alone, Wendy starts using again and winds overdose. Abel was born 10 weeks prematurely and crank addicted in the pilot episode. In season 5, Jax marries his high school lover and love in his life Tara Knowles and who is the mother of his second son, Thomas.

After discovering some of his father's old journals and an old manuscript entitled Sam Crow's Life and Death: How the Children of Anarchy Lost Their Way, collectively putting the original manifesto for SAMCRO, he found himself doubting the direction of the club, causing friction between himself and his stepfather Clay, and spreading doubts among other members. Another member of SAMCRO, Opie Winston, has been her best friend since childhood.

Season One

Season One begins with Sons of Anarchy (SOA) finding their arsenal of burning weapons. SOA rushed to the scene, where local police officers have investigated. Jax and Clay talk to Sheriff Vic Trammel about the blaze, claiming that the propane tank inside the building exploded, and he suspected arson, because of the traces in it. Trammel then showed them the burnt corpses of the people hidden beneath the building, which is illegal immigrants. It is later revealed that they are Mexican whores who are "owned" by Sergeant-at-Arms club, Tig Trager. When Jax returns home and starts searching through storage, he finds old photographs of his late father and a journal entitled Sam Crow's Life and Death: How the Children of Anarchy Lost Their Ways was written by him, and for his children, Jackson and Thomas (who had died at the time of writing). Jax is then summoned away to a group meeting ("Church") where all chapter members meet. These are: Clay Morrow (President), Bobby Munson (Treasurer), Tig Trager (Sergeant-in-Arms), Chibs Telford (Medic), Piney Winston (Co-founder), Juice Ortiz (intelligence officer) and Happy. Clay announced that Juice had placed the rifle and that they were stolen by the Maya, a rival motorcycle gang. They decided to get a reply the next day, though Jax suggested that the club look for other ways to make money rather than deal with weapons, especially with so many rival groups behind them.

Meanwhile, Gemma finds her pregnant former pregnant wife, Wendy Case, falling in her home, and she rushes to the hospital. Dr. Tara Knowles tells him that trail marks are found on Wendy's hands and feet, and that they must have an emergency caesarean section on her, leaving the baby ten weeks early. Because of this, the baby has a heart defect and a tear in his abdomen. The latter stems from Wendy's misuse of drugs, but the previous problem is likely to be a genetic defect. Together, the two defects close to fatal. The baby has only a 20% chance of surviving. Jax and Tara are high school lovers, and he personally asks for help in his case. Jax decides not to visit his baby boy, named Abel, and instead runs away from the hospital. He then went to a local bar with Bobby and Chibs and defeated the Wendy dealer, who was a member of the Nordics gang, repeatedly with a cue stick. Later, he visited Opie Winston, a former SOA member who was recently released from prison and promised his wife and children that he would never return. Jax convinces Opie to accompany him the next day. Jax then returns to visit Wendy at the hospital, who promises she will be clean. He also said doctors told him Abel is getting stronger, but he faces fetal abuse allegations because he has a drawer at home. She asks him to get rid of his savings before he faces time in jail. Jax shows up at his house, which he finds in haste by his mother. Jax tells him that Abel will die, which infuriates Gemma, who slaps her and tells him that she is his only child. Jax asks him about his father's original vision of the club and he replies that it is to create brotherhood and family. Jax talks about the writings he finds, how his father wants a social rebellion, not a criminal club. As he leaves, Jax flushes Wendy's stash to the toilet and grabs his pistol. Clay and Gemma begin to worry that Jax left the club and what he stands for. The next day, Clay, Jax, and Bobby met with Ernest Darby, the Nordic leader, and told him never to bring shabu-shabu or other drugs into Charming again. That night, as they prepare to go and retrieve their weapons back from San Leandro, Jax tells Opie not to come because of the situation with his family and Bobby is busy doing his Elvis actions at a club in Lake Tahoe. When they arrived at the industrial repository and found the weapon, three Maya people appeared in a car outside. Clay and Chibs then shot and killed the Mayans and other men, who had a number of Nazi and White tattoo supremacies. He was a member of the Nordics, a local skinhead gang allied to the Mayans, and later emerged that his name was Whistler. Jax is also armed but bumps into a mental barrier before he can shoot. They then escaped with weapons and destroyed the building using explosives.

Wayne Unser, Head of the Handsome Police Department, has always been successful with Anarchist Children during his tenure, and even hired them as muscle at the time. However, he is dying of cancer and will retire at the end of the month, handing power to his Deputy, David Hale, who openly suspects SOA and is almost certain to start an investigation into the club. Hale speaks to Jax, telling him that when he becomes Chief, he will not look the other way with the Sons of Anarchy as did his predecessor. To distract the police from their activities, the burnt warehouses in particular, Jax, Chibs and Half-Sack Epps (Prospects at the club) get two bodies from the local morgue and arrange them in a fake shootout. Set-up shooting was made to look like a racist murder involving Nordics. On the way back to town, Jax was cut off on the street by a man driving a red muscle car. He then catches up with this guy at the gas station and hits him. The driver then took out a gun and tried to shoot Jax, but wrestled to the ground and then killed by a Pakistani shopkeeper, who hit him with a fire ax. All three then stole CCTV footage and escaped from the scene. Later, Jax visits Abel's baby, and Tara tells him that he will recover completely. He also says that Wendy is undergoing detoxification, and he will be out for a few days.

Local businessman Elliot Oswald went to Clay after his 13-year-old daughter was raped at the carnival, and asked the Anarchy Children to hunt the rapist and kill him, in return for money. Clay rejects the money, but insists that if they catch a rapist, Oswald must carry out the punishment itself. Juice and Gemma discover that the rapist is one of the carnies and the gang catches him and takes him to Oswald, who tries to castrate him, but can not force himself to do so. Clay then carries a punishment, but wearing gloves while doing so. He then blackmail Oswald for the crime, as Oswald's only fingerprints are on the knife, as Oswald is about to sell most of the land around Tampan to big business and housing, which will challenge the SOA governance over the city. Jax was not happy Clay did not tell him about the plan, and told Clay to always tell him about his future motives.

When the agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Josh Kohn arrived in Charming and started investigating the club, SOA decided that they should move their weapons to Indian Hills, Nevada, where their brother's club, Satan Tribe, is based. Clay sends Bobby and Jax to tell the Satan Tribe that the Children of Anarchy will patch up and store weapons on their land. On the way there, they meet a group of Mayan people on the street and engage in a gunbattle, even though no one is killed. Later, the couple ran into each other as they left the gas station. The man is posing for a picture on Jax's bike and is so disrespectful to the woman, named Suzi, so they beat her. Jax then takes Suzi to have sex and continue his journey. When they arrived at the Tribe's Devil Clubhouse and told them about the news, their President, the Jury, was not happy but finally accepted that it was the best decision for both clubs. After the patchwork party, Jax goes to ride and attract the attention of a group of Maya people. He then pulls them back to the club, where the Children of Anarchy are waiting for them. A huge firefight ensued, where the jury was shot and wounded. After having sex with Jax, Suzi leaves and returns to her old boyfriend. The ATF agent has followed Jax all the time, taking photos. She sends a picture of Jax and Suzi having sex with Tara, her former lover.

Otto Delaney and a host of other imprisoned SAMCRO members have protected Chuck at Stockton jail. He was wanted by the Triad because he stole money from them, then told about a number of their members when he was arrested. When Clay and Jax visit Otto in jail, he tells them that if they protect Chuck when he is released, he will tell them where Triad is saving their money. They agreed and picked him up from prison and took him to the club. SAMCRO intends to wait until the restaurant, where money is kept, closes before robbing it, but Chuck's masturbation is often unbearable for them and they decide to rush into the restaurant. At the restaurant, Jax used his knife to cut the patch that had just been taped to the ceiling where the money bag was located. However, as soon as they stole money and some forgery plates, the Triad appeared. Instead of starting a war, Clay decided to make a deal; SAMCRO hands over Chuck and the slab, and Triad lets them save the stolen money. Meanwhile, Kyle Hobart, a shy former member of SAMCRO, went to Jax and asked him if the Children wanted to enter into his deal selling stolen car spares. Jax accepts and invites him to the nightclub. It is an arrangement, however, to punish him for not having his SOA tattoo removed after being denied by the club. At the club, they tied him up and Tig used torches to burn tattoos.

Jax and Piney sold five AK-47s to Nate Meineke and his rightwing state militia. They then use this weapon to ambush the jail convoy and release one of its members, Frank Cison. A police officer and two observers were killed in the attack. Meineke dropped her cell phone on the spot, and her last call to Clay Morrow. When ATF finds the phone, they catch Clay and invade the clubhouse. Clay was later released because no evidence was found, which meant he was no longer detained. Meanwhile, Jax, Piney and Opie decide to kill Meineke and his gang to prevent them complaining if they are arrested by the authorities. They pretend to sell them more weapons. However, the "weapons box" was actually filled with explosives, and the militia loaded their truck with them. All militia were killed when the bomb was detonated.

When Tara told Jax that ATF agent Josh Kohn had been following him, Jax threatened to kill Kohn if he approached Tara again. Jax also reported it to David Hale, who in turn told ATF. Upon learning that the authorities had not captured Kohn, Jax hunt Kohn, himself. Jax finds it in the local barber shop, and a fight ensues with Jax emerging as the winner. Kohn was later arrested for violating Tara's detention order against him.

While riding his motorcycle on the highway, Jax came with a truck driver, who was badly beaten, on the hood of his truck. Truck drivers say that the Nordic people have beaten him because he owes them money. They also bring their trucks and tankers full of diesel fuel. Jax and Opie then hijack the truck back from Nords and sell it to Wayne Unser, who runs the trucking company. This then gives SAMCRO enough money to buy weapons from the True IRA. That night, Jax goes to Tara's house, after he calls her and asks her to come. Kohn had broken in and tried to rape him, but he took his pistol and shot him in the stomach. Jax then kills Kohn and has sex with Tara.

Cameron Hayes, a True IRA member, offers free SAMCRO weapon delivery if they carry out an attack on Brenan Hefner, the man who killed his cousin Michael McKeavey. Jax, Bobby, and Opie then went to the hotel room, where he saw his African-American mistress. Opie should have shot him when he left the room, but froze and Bobby stepped in and shot him from close range with the silenced gun.

ATF captures Luann Delaney and Cherry, women Otto and Half-Sack, and threatens them with prison if they do not provide information about SAMCRO. Bobby, Piney and Tig started a fight at a local bar and most of the small town police forces had to go to the scene to break it down. This gives Jax and Opie a chance to get into the police station, with the help of Unser, and free Cherry. Luann remains behind because ATF will ask Otto to file a case he thinks are harmless, to secure him and Luann deal, but in fact will lead to the arrest of every member of the club. So Luann had to send a message to Otto.

When Bobby was arrested for the murder of Brenan Hefner, Agent Stahl made it seem that Opie was the one who identified himself. Jax never told Clay and the rest of the club that Opie lost his nerve and failed to shoot Hefner, forcing Bobby to shoot Hefner from the other side of the door, where the girl saw him. Still thinking that Hefner's photoshoot came down clean, and thus the only people who could see were other SOA members, along with all the evidence engineered by Stahl, it seems very likely that Opie is a rat. Jax defended Opie, however, and convinced some clubs that ATF had set him up. Clay has Tig checking Opie's car for wiretaps, which Tig found. Tig and Clay believe Opie is guilty and decides to kill him.

Tara starts living with Jax at the clubhouse after shooting Kohn for being in her home makes her uncomfortable. When Jax and Tara kiss at the hospital, Wendy sees them and then confronts Tara. The next day, Jax goes with Clay, Tig and Opie to make a weapons deal with Mayan in Oakland. However, The One-Niner attacked the deal, and they fled when the Mayas and Niners fought. Clay and Tig have made a deal with Niners, but have not told Jax or others; Niners were supposed to get rid of Mayan after SOA left, but they decided to take them out as well. That night, Abel was released from the hospital and a party was held in celebration. Tara kissed Jax at the party again, deliberately for Wendy to see. Jax then pulls Tara aside, and tells him not to show off their relationship in front of the recovering Wendy, and "be cool with whatever it is." She grabs it and she seems to pull back in a way that shows a PTSD reaction so she slaps her face. Tara storms out. When Opie leaves the party, he takes his wife's car to bring his children home, and his wife picks up his pickup truck. Tig thinks Opie is driving a truck and shooting Donna.

Wendy tells Jax that she wants to give their relationship another chance now because they have a child, but she refuses, saying that things will not be different from before. When she later visits Tara, she tells him that she's afraid of being arrested for killing Kohn and that she moved back to Chicago. She admits she is the only woman she has ever loved and that she only marries Wendy because she is lonely. In the Church, Piney says she wants to kill Laroy in revenge for killing Donna, so Jax tells Half-Sack to follow Piney to make sure Piney does not do the unnecessary. Half-sack then calls Jax because Piney goes to a bar in Oakland and holds Niner hostage. When Jax and Chibs arrive, they manage to get Piney out and talk to Laroy, who says it's not his gang that killed Donna. When he visits the police station to ask Unser if he has a clue about Donna's murder, David Hale approached him. Hale tells Jax about Stahl's arrangement on Opie, and Jax then realizes that it's SAMCRO who killed Donna. She confronts Clay about this at the club and asks if she (Clay) has anything to do with Donna's death. Clay denied it. When Jax leaves the clubhouse, Juice tells him that the witness to kill Hefner is a 17-year-old girl and that Chibs, Happy and Tig are on their way to kill him. Jax then goes to San Joaquin on his motorbike and stops Tig from killing him at gunpoint. He said Chibs and Happy left and threatened witnesses to leave the country. He then defeats Tig because he killed Donna. Jax spends the night in the cemetery, drinking vodka. The next morning, he went to Donna's funeral, which was attended by Sons of Anarchy from all over the country. She and Tara share a kiss, and the season ends as she stands up and sees her father and brother's headstones.

Season Two

In the first episode of Season 2, Jax and Clay go head to head over Donna's death. The only reason Jax did not tell Opie the truth is he really loves Opie and does not want him to lose the only family he left behind - the club. Jax insists on coming alongside Opie, Chibs and Tig to kill a member of Maya's SAMCRO frame for the murder of Donna. After Mayan was killed, Opie carved the symbol of Sons of Anarchy into his stomach (so the Mayan would know why the man was killed). After Opie, Chibs and Tig leave, Jax removes the symbol and throws his body in the Mayan area, putting up 9 fingers to make it look like the Niners kill the man. Jax has a new tattoo: the name of his son Abel in left pec. He is seen rescuing Tig from a hunter with Chibs, Happy, Half-Sack and Piney. He considers that Ethan Zobelle and L.O.A.N. will fight a cheating war against SAMCRO and he defies Clay's plan to attack Aryans directly. Jax finds fault with almost all Clay words and both grow further and further apart.

After L.O.A.N. burning the Ways, Jax guessed it was Clay, because Clay did not want the porn business around after Luann was killed. This pushes Jax beyond the limit, and he decides to go to Nomad. Voting unanimously and Jax removes the Vice President's patches and the original Redwood patches in preparation for going to Nomad, but after learning of his mother's rape at the hands of L.O.A.N., he returns as SAMCRO's Vice President looking to take revenge on L.O.A.N., especially A.J. Weston. Jax also learned that L.O.A.N. responsible for burning Ways. Upon learning Tig had told Opie the truth about Donna's death, Opie left the club to look for Stahl. Jax assumes that since Stahl is investigating L.O.A.N., Opie will pursue Zobelle and his crew, and go to follow Zobelle. While following Zobelle, Jax learns that Zobelle is dealing with the Maya behind Weston's back.

In the final of Season 2 "Na TrioblÃÆ'³idÃÆ'," Jax finally takes revenge on A.J. Weston by killing him in a tattoo parlor salon. Stahl's agent killed Edmond in an attempt to kill him. Stahl's framework, Gemma Morrow for Edmond's murder when Gemma came to kill Zobelle's daughter, who was responsible for the abduction of Gemma. At the end of the episode, Cameron Hayes, mistakenly thought Gemma killed his son, stabbed and killed Half-Sack and abducted Jax's son Abel, escaping in his boat to an unknown location. The last Jax looks desperate and cries on the dock while Clay and the other Children cheer him up, watching Hayes go with his son.

Season Three

In the first episode, we see Jax still confused over Abel's disappearance. When Sons came out to look for Cameron, he remained neutral. She tries to break up with Tara because she believes she ruined her life, but she remains loyal to him and refuses to leave. On waking Half-Sack, Clay tells Jax that he must be strong to inspire his SAMCRO brother. When a woman's son is shot in drive-by after waking up, Jax ends up losing it and continues to bump into the shooter's head into the sidewalk until his colleagues pull him away. Also in the next episode, he's increasingly trying to push Tara out of his life.

When Jax found out that Abel was in Belfast (despite Jimmy O'Phellan's transfer), he made a deal with Stahl Agent to give him Jimmy and the True IRA in Northern California in exchange for him dropping charges against his mother Gemma and reducing the federal weapons demands that SAMCRO has opposed. Jax knows very well that this deal is very dangerous for him because he will get back behind Clay and SAMCRO. In the episode "The Push", Jax asks Tara to help move the black market drug and she agrees. The San Joaquin Sheriff's Department raided the home of the SAMCRO club based on a tip from Ernest Darby (who saw the deal down) and Jax felt that Tara was too risky to get involved with him and the club. She broke up with her and ended up having sex with Ima, one of the former porn star Ways. The next morning Tara comes to her and Ima. When he sees it later on the day he apologizes for what happened before, but he is not interested to listen, because he believes he intends for it to happen to hurt him. He thinks he blames her for Abel's abduction. She keeps saying it to protect her, but she does not trust her. She, Clay and Tig then took Gemma from the hospital to take her to Belfast with them. When they arrived, Jax and the club were stopped by the police and threatened to be deported back to America. After interrogating the officers, it is known that someone not only calls them, but also pays them to deport SAMCRO. Once they reach the clubhouse belonging to the Belfast chapter, Jax meets Maureen and Trinity Ashby. Trinity is Jax's half-brother, though this fact is not yet known to either of them. There are subtle hints that Jax and Trinity may be attracted to each other. Jax then meets with Kellan Ashby's father. Father Kellan explained to Jax that the real IRA wanted to get rid of Jimmy O'Phellan and that they wanted SAMCRO to do it, because the real IRA did not want to commit the killing of one of their own leaders. Father Kellan promised Jax that he would return Abel if Jax killed Jimmy.

In the episode "Turas," when SAMCRO was almost killed by a bomb that was hidden in a weapons delivery placed there by SAMBEL Sgt. at the Arms, Jax had a startling vision of his real father talking to him, but it turned out he was really his stepfather, Clay Morrow. The next day SAMCRO, with the help of Sean Casey, interrogated Liam O'Neill about his relationship with Jimmy. O'Neill confessed that he blew up a truck that killed Real members IRA and SAMBEL. He also admitted that McGee worked for Jimmy. After a shootout with Jimmy and his crew, Jax chases after Jimmy but can not meet him on time. He made it back just in time to watch Clay kill McGee for betraying the club. That night, Jax and the club meet with the IRA board to present evidence that Jimmy has flipped and learned that he will not kill Jimmy. Back at the clubhouse, Jax and Trinity approached to have sex, but Gemma and Maureen walked on top of them. Jax learns from his mother that Trinity is his stepbrother. He took it well, even joking that in two minutes he would be in the Tig region. After talking to his mother, he meets with Father Ashby to find out where Abel is. Father Ashby admits that he never planned to give Abel back, because he knows about John Teller's desire to keep Jax out of his life and decide if he can not help Jax, he can try to help Abel by giving it to a better family to raise. he. Jax gets angry and attacks Ashby, only to be thrown on the table. After Jax threatens to kill Sean Casey at gunpoint, Ashby finally tells Jax where he can find Abel. However, Ashby tells Jax that if she loves Abel, she'll let him go. When Jax finally finds Abel, his emotions and Ashby's suggestions do not allow him to decide whether to save Abel or leave him with his new adoptive family. Gemma was furious that Jax might hand over her grandson, and she told him that Tara was pregnant with siblings for Abel. Jimmy O'Phelan killed Irish adoptive parents and took Abel hostage. After this happens, Jax decides he finished taking his father's manuscript to heart and feels that if he never listens to Ashby, his son will not be a situation like that. Jax and Real IRA made a deal with Jimmy to exchange Abel with a new hostage, Father Kellan Ashby. Just before leaving Belfast, Jax received an undisclosed phone call from Tig, which was probably about Tara's kidnapping.

After Jax and SAMCRO return from Belfast, they start looking for Tara. The Mayans helped in the search because Salazar was a threat to their new heroin operation at Stockton Jail. They found two women killed on the street. One of them is Salazar's girlfriend and the other is a Salazar woman who was killed for his car. Jax worries about Tara's safety and Bobby promises her that they'll bring her back safely. They discover that Salazar not only has Tara, but has also taken Hale hostage. When Salazar reveals that he will exchange Tara with Jax, he is ready and willing. Jax proceeds to fight with Salazar. Salazar walked, only to end up cornered in the hall, where Jax stabbed him to death and made it seem like defensively. Later, she went with Tara for an ultrasound to make sure the baby was healthy. Jax then meets with Stahl, who is still determined to see the deal. At the end of the story, it was revealed that his deal with Stahl was a club decision, and that he would never complain to his family. When he must be denying his promise to keep it a secret, he acts part of knowing he will soon die and they will serve the light time. In a letter to Gemma, Jax assures him that he is not his father and will never complain to the club. However, Tara read a letter from Jax's father to mistress Maureen Ashby, after the club was arrested, who strongly pointed out that Gemma and Clay were responsible for the death of John Teller.

Season Four

Jax and other club members are released from prison. He has a stomach scar coming from a prison stab incident involving Russian mobs. Also, Jax's appearance is different. He has cut his hair and cut off his beard.

After he came home to Tara and their two sons, Abel and Thomas, they made love. During the post-coital discussion, Jax proposed to Tara, with a ring wrapped in the small fist of his second son, Thomas. He accepted. The newly engaged couple then discussed their future as a family, where Jax claimed to want to leave the Children as soon as Clay resigned as President. Later, she attended Opie's wedding as her best man. After the ceremony, Jax goes with Clay and the Russians to fire the gun given to Opie as a wedding gift from the Russians. While Clay was testing the weapons, he shot guards Putlova and Jax stabbed Putlova dead in retaliation for trying to kill her in jail, saying it was "business only." Jax then returns to the reception to dance with his fiancee, Tara. The next day, Jax and Tara were eating breakfast with their son when they saw news of four bodies found at the construction site Charming Heights. Tara asks Jax to tell her everything she knows about it. He tells her that it's retaliation because he was stabbed in jail. After breakfast, he went with Clay to the deal they made with Galindo Cartel. On the deal, Jax knows that Clay has prepared it for SAMCRO to chew cocaine for cartels and Mayans. Clay tells Jax that everything that has happened in the last two years has left him and Gemma without money and that he needs Jax to help him sell it all over SAMCRO. Jax tells Clay that he'll support him as long as Clay allows Jax out of SAMCRO and that the president's patch falls into Opie's hands. Clay agreed with the deal. Jax and Clay meet with other SAMCRO members to try to convince them that drug transport will be good for them, financially. Jax showed them the money they made from the first deal to convince them. After the meeting, Jax and Opie go to Indian Reservation to see about ammunition. They were met by some vengeful Russians. Russia threatened to kill two Native Americans they held hostage if they did not get their weapons back. After the fight, Jax agrees to call SAMCRO to get his weapon to them. Jax and Opie were eventually rescued by the Galindo Cartel, who killed all but two Russians, one of whom was given to Native Americans for retaliation. When Jax and Opie return to the Clubhouse, they discover it has been marred by Sheriff Roosevelt. To lighten the mood, Tara announced their engagement. During the celebration, Jax glimpsed Bobby, who pours liquor to the ground to signal the beginning of the end. He was then the one who convinced Galindo not to execute Laroy Wayne and many One-Niners to work with Lobos Sonoras. Bobby stated this shows he deserves to be president and he knows Jax's desire to leave SAMCRO. Jax confronts Clay, telling him that he will help arrange an agreement between the IRA and the Cartel and then will leave. When Clay responds by insulting Tara, Jax threatens to "hit a half-dead hand so hard on that table, you'll never hold that hammer again." He tells Tara how he will come with him to a hospital in Oregon and he will be out of the club soon. They enjoy a peaceful visit, but Tara is attacked by a Galindo hired killer to stop her from revealing the letters. Jax managed to save him, but his hand was hurt as a result. He then sees how Gemma has been brutally beaten by Clay. She confronts him but focuses on the issue at hand: using heavy duty IRA weapons to eliminate Lobos Sonoras. When Clay, Juice, and Romeo are fired upon, Jax calls the IRA to deliver the RPG that he and Chibs use to save them. When Opie finds out about Piney's murder in Clay's hands, he goes to the club house, Jax holds him at gunpoint and threatens to kill him, Opie calls his bluff and shoots Clay twice in the chest. He stops Opie from solving it and makes Unser and Rat to cover up the truth. Later, Gemma finally revealed the letters to Jax and Clay's involvement in Piney's death and Tara's kidnapping, infuriating Jax, who vowed to kill Clay himself with the blood thinner given to him by Tara.

In the end, Jax does not kill Clay, as he needs Clay alive for the Galindo Cartel/IRA deal. Romeo and Luis are CIA informants and need arms deals to survive; However, Irish King Galen will only deal with Clay. They threatened to use a canceled RICO operation to destroy the Sons of Anarchy if he did not obey. Instead, he told Clay that he would resign as President, thus making Jax SAMCRO the new President. He wiped out President Clay's fillings and held a meeting where everyone except Opie was present. His first act as President was to make Chibs his Sergeant-His new weapon. He tries for the last time to let Tara go (revealing CIA threats too) with her children, but she again tells him that she will not go anywhere.

Season Five

Jax proved to have a more experienced role as President. He is now beginning to write his own manuscripts for his children when they are older. Her appearance has changed again; her hair has grown back and she has been combed back. While Sons hauls cocaine to Galindo, they are attacked by Niners, taking revenge for the murder of the evil Oakland gangster boy Damon Pope (Veronica). He then promoted Bobby to become Vice President after Opie refused the offer because of his hatred for Clay. He then convened a meeting with new Niner leaders and lieutenant Pope August to stop hostilities between Sons and Niners. Jax, Chibs and Bobby later found a broken Tig, having to watch when the Pope burned his daughter Dawn alive. After ensuring the safety of his other daughter, Jax, Chibs and Tig were arrested when witnesses purchased by the Pope briefed Tig who ran on Veronica Pope and Jax and the shooting of Chib highway in one of the Niners. They are hiding in a brothel owned by Gemma's new leader, Nero Padilla. He meets with the club's lawyers to kill R.I.C.O. case against SAMCRO and expose the threat it poses, to Bobby and Tara. Jax manages to get Romeo to provide cover for them inside. Opie then attacks Roosevelt to accompany them. While in Jax prison visited by the Pope. The Pope told Jax that to arrange everything directly for his daughter's death, the Pope will receive half of the money the Children earn to transport cocaine to the Galindo cartel. The Pope told Jax that due to death, one of the Children in prison must die and Jax will choose who will become. The Pope also wants Tig to remain in jail for the rest of his life so that he can be tortured every day. After death occurs, the remaining Sons will be released so they can produce. Jax tells Opie what the Pope has told him and confesses to Opie about Clay killing JT and Piney. When the time comes for Jax to choose one of Sons to fight to the death, Opie jumps in and strikes one of the guards, volunteering to be a sacrificed Child. Opie prepares to fight three black prisoners. They beat Opie to death with a pipe. When escorted back to his cell by the head guard governing the fight, Jax tells the guard that he was released the next day and that he will find him and kill him for killing his best friend.

He then meets Nero (whose bordello business is closed by a police attack) to suggest he use SAMCRO connections to porn stars ways to restart his business and share profits with the club. He took her to the Club to remove them from guns and drugs, and that was voted on Clay's insistence. They then meet with Galen and Galindo cartels to organize a large arms sale. He and Galen reconciled with their hostility towards each other and solved it in a boxing fight. To get a location to set up a brothel for Nero, Jax, Bobby, and Chibs meet up with Hale asking to rent a piece of property for use. He denies, but then reconsider when Jax offers him dirt on the city council members to allow Charming Heights to continue and Damon Pope as an investor. Jax held another meeting with the Pope, who offered him a new deal; to double their muling costs from Galindo by cutting his gang to move cocaine. The club judged him and, despite his strong objections, it entered. The Pope also gave Jax the identity and address of the prison sergeant that Opie had been killed. To allow muling to get through, Jax meets with Alvarez, Henry Lin, and president Niner as cocaine will move through their territory. Everyone agrees with the agreement that allows things to proceed. At the end of the episode, Jax, Chibs, Bobby, and Tig enter the sergeant's house and Jax cruelly strikes him to death with a snowball and needs to be pulled out of him by Chibs. In "Toad's Wild Ride," Jax, Bobby, and Unser came to the conclusion that the three Nomads of Gogo, Greg and Frankie were behind Rita's burglary and death. When Gogo and Greg were killed after trying to kill Unser, the club realized Frankie had gone underground. Jax confronts Clay about affiliation with the Nomad, whom he denies. Jax only commented that when they found Frankie "they will decide who lives and who dies". When he and Chibs returned to the club house, they were attacked by two men with machine guns. They killed one and the others escaped; when they check the shooter he is lowered to black.

In the next episode "Ablation," Jax, Tig and Chibs cut a hand from the body and sent one to Unser for identification and the other to the Pope to send a message. He later learned that Gemma, Abel, and Thomas had a car accident that seemed to be caused by an escaping gunman who avoided him. Jax met the Pope, questioning whether he was behind hiring the gunners or the Nomads. The Pope rejected this and the Niners led Jax to other shooters, who revealed that they were employed by Frankie. Jax shoots the shooter a few times and then pushes him out of the building, Chibs and Happy are amazing. Then Jax, Chibs, and Bobby go to a new brothel to find Nero and Lyla held at gunpoint by Frankie. He demanded $ 150,000 or he would kill Lyla; Nero gave him $ 134,000 in cash and some nice watches and he took Chibs as a new hostage. He also reveals Clay putting him, Gogo and Gray up to break-ins and shoot Lyla on foot. He also learns of Nero Gemma falling because he is tall. He tells Tara who hit Gemma and forbade her to see her children. He was greeted by Roosevelt at the clubhouse who revealed there were other rats on the club table, who helped them get R.I.C.O. case started. He declares will reveal the mice in exchange for Jax to bring Frankie to him. Jax goes to see Tara and tells him that he needs proof that Clay hired Nomads to be taken to the club, declaring he has a plan he might not like. She meets with Gemma and tells her if she wants to go back to their lives, she has to go back to Clay, gain her trust and help her get the evidence she needs. In "Andare Pescare," the club learns that Frankie is hiding with the Mafia family, paying them with Nero's money. The club unanimously voted to kill Frankie after obtaining the identity of who hired him; However, Jax expressed the need to keep Frankie alive for Bobby to find out the identity of the other mice on the table. They meet the Mafia Don hiding Frankie, and after a fight with his bodyguard, Jax tells him that Frankie stole $ 500,000 from his club (lied to change them against Frankie for not paying them enough) and gave them the safehouse location where Frankie was hiding. While on their way there, they saw an explosion and found a blasted safe with Clay and Juice holding Frankie at gunpoint. He stopped them from killing her, but Mafia Don, angry about one of his men being murdered by Frankie, crushes him before he can tell them anything. Jax holds another meeting with Roosevelt where he reveals Frankie's death outside his hand and he knows that Juice is a rat. The episode ends with Jax in Van tailing Juice. In "Crucifixed" Jax, Chibs and Bobby meet to discuss Juice and RICO cases. They decided to wait for Juice to avoid damaging the Club's image. Jax then meets with Juice stating that if Juice wants to make sure the Club never knows, he will find some legal documents that will confirm Clay arranging the Nomads to move. They then went after another Opie killer, the cousin of the Grim Rauncher of President T.O, whom they agreed and killed, though Jax promised not to. The act was very angry with the Bastas and Bobby.

The next episode, "To Thine Own Self," indicates Jax is ready to pull the club from the Cartel, now the RICO case is missing (Otto kills a nurse with a cross given to him by Tara, causing the FBI to throw out his statement). He is shown to have a plan to ensure everyone wins, which he disclosed when he was kidnapped by Romeo; Jax has arranged for the Mayans to take over Cartel's cocaine mules and the Triads will use their connection to Gaza, to keep their "big guns". He disclosed the agreement and the RICO case that died to the Club and unanimously he chose to enter. He goes to Clay's house, with Chibs and Bobby, when Juice declares he finds legal documents confirming Clay's hand in Nomad's attack. They found them leaving when Clay moved them when he was alone. Jax hit Juice and sent him home. He then reveals to Bobby and Chibs he needs Clay to come down by revealing that Clay killed JT and Piney and tried to kill Tara. The next episode of "Darthy" indicates that Bobby convinces Clay to confess to being behind the Nomad attack in exchange for voting not to kill him. All Club members chose to kick Clay out of SAMCRO, but did not kill him because Bobby's voice was not, and Jax desperately hit Clay. He learned from Lin that it would take 3-4 months to start delivering their weapons, but Romeo stated that Lobo Sonoras pushed Galindo hard and they needed another IRA shipment to wait for time to get Chinese stock. Jax initially manages to convince Galen to give them weapons, but Romeo appears with Galindo gunmen to pick up weapons, resulting in a short shoot with Galen and his men, before getting weapons. Galen promised to make SAMCRO pay for this. Jax puts the Club in lockdown, but Galen manages to kidnap Wendy from the hospital. He demands $ 479,000 or he'll kill Wendy and kidnap Abel. Jax gets money from Nero as a down payment to sell Biz Latz weapons. When Wendy threatens to report the incident to the police and takes Abel, Jax goes to her apartment, bullying and injecting her with heroin to destroy her credibility.

The end of the season shows Jax finalizing his deal with the Pope; He got documents promising automotive contracts for TM and subsidized housing for the Opie family. He joins the other kids in tracking down Nero's rival Dante and at the point during the ensuing battle, pushing a man's head into a nail bucket for hurting Chibs. He then took Tig to a remote location and apparently handed it over to the Pope before shooting the three Popes and giving the gun to Tig, who then shot the Pope. The gun is downgraded to Clay; given to Jax by Juice. Jax then instilled a gun to find the police. He met Augustus by blaming the Pope for Clay's death and he had nothing to do with it. She is seen at the end of the episode in fear, as Tara is arrested for involvement in Otto's murder of a nurse.

Season Six

Jax is having trouble with his wife Tara is behind bars because of her involvement in the death of a nurse. He tries to keep moving from gun to legitimate business. She was seen at the end of episode 1 having an affair with Tara with Colette Jane, an escort escort. The next episode shows he met resistance from Galen O'Shay to end his arms deal with Ireland. Galen confirmed they took delivery of KG-9 after school shootings were done with one of them. Jax also meets with August Marks, to gain status in Clay and still hand over Tig. He and Nero find the mother of the child, as does Nero's cousin, to make sure he does not reveal the origin of the weapon. They took him to the cabin, but he panicked, took a gun and two ran away. Nero shot his cousin and both tied up and checked her. Against Nero's wishes, Jax had Juice strangle him and make him look overdose. Jax also knows that Clay has spoken to Lee Toric, the brother of the murdered nurse who was behind Tara's arrest. Both meet; Clay declares he will not give Toric any damaging information and he's sorry. Jax then tells Toric to leave Tara alone or he'll "show him how private this is for her." He tried then to get a new charter to take the SAMCRO weapons business. He also met with August for seeming to give up the Tig, but Tig later proved fine. When the San Dino charter underestimated the weapon, he offered his pipe to August. He seems to make more calls behind the club, causing friction with Chibs. When he finds out the Neo-Nazi attack on Unser (in retaliation for Clay's murder of a Stockton member) he meets with Darby to find them. He then has a second meeting, more aggressive with Galen, telling him SAMCRO is done with weapons and they are nothing more than gangsters. In retaliation, Galen kills Phil and Phil Fily a prospect, cuts up their bodies, and leaves two cases of KG-9. The episode ends with Jax using them to annihilate the Neo-Nazis.

The next episode shows SAMCRO and his comrades in lockdown while Jax, Tig, Juice, Chibs and Happy try to track Galen's compatriot, Connor. When they find Connor, they learn that Galen is gone. Jax then uses Connor's phone to talk to the Irish kings and offers them August Marks as a new distributor and tells them that he does not want war. Roarke tells him that they'll call at 8 o'clock with an answer. When it's almost 8, Jax notices something suspicious about the beer keg, realizes it's armed, The kids pull out everyone. Jax ran out of the clubhouse with Abel, just as it exploded. With the destruction of the clubhouse, Jax and SAMCRO meet at home Gemma and Jax talk to Galen and Kings again, to find that they have to work with their terms or more SOA club houses to be bombed; They'll get Clay out of jail, have him prepare the crew for the shooter and Sons will hand all their customers to them without profit. Jax agrees and surprises them by stating he did not kill Connor and the other Irish they kidnapped. He then meets with all West Coast SOA members and announces the end of SOA-IRA ties and runs weapons that support legitimate revenue. At the end of the meeting, Bobby rejoined SAMCRO, bringing in three new members. Jax then meets with Hale to hire an old ice cream parlor as their new clubhouse. SAMCRO is voting on new recruits as well as incoming Ratboy patches. Jax then helps Venus, one of the Nero girls who helps them get dirt on the city council members, getting his son from his emotionally abusive mother, Alice. When Alice cruelly berates Venus, Jax shoots his head. He later discovers Tara, who suffers from a miscarriage caused by Gemma. She signed a legal form to keep her from their children. Jax later finds out of Lowen's pregnancy is a lie to keep the boys from him and Gemma. He went to Colette's to keep his distance between him and Tara and told Juice to keep an eye on him. He then meets with Galen to discuss business; Galen claimed SAMCRO should help plan their removal of Clay from his transport. Jax objects to help, but have no choice. He and Galen meet with the Cacuzza family to make them switch to Irish weapons. When the Triad arrives, Galen fires at them and they run away. The Cacuzzas made a deal out of fear. This causes the Triad to face the Children. They brought Happy hostage and told them to close the Irish pipes. It also revealed Jax had made a deal with the Patterson district attorney to hand over Galen and his crew in exchange for immunity to Tara and the Club. Jax returns to Colette to relax. They had sex, but were caught by Tara who attacked Colette and hit Jax. He stated he did this to him.

The next episode "Aon Rud Persanta" shows SAMCRO helping to free Clay from his transport to court. They succeed, but Bobby is injured and Juice kills a guard in the process. They meet Galen who congratulates Jax. Jax then kills Galen, while Tig and Chibs kill his men. Jax explained that the Club is taking a vote on how to handle the situation. Clay realizes he's next and, resigned to his fate, stands ready. Jax then shot Clay at the neck and several times in the chest. They then launched a murder to look like Clay and Ireland killing each other in a dispute, which Connor opposes.

Patterson meets with Jax at the new clubhouse, telling him that no matter what happens today, the result falls on him and that he is a man, a husband, and a father before SAMCRO and that a good person will not let his family pay the price for his mistake. Jax managed to track Tara down to the park in Lodi when Rat followed his new lawyer there. Jax assures him that he will not hurt her or the children and tell her to be a good mother and keep their children safe. Jax and Tara meet with Patterson, and he offers to surrender himself as a KG-9 source, and Tara will be free to take the boy wherever he wants. That night, Jax said goodbye to the club members before departing (He also revealed his knowledge of Juice's betrayal during their arms). At his home, he finds lifeless bodies of Tara and Eli Roosevelt on the floor. Jax grabbed Tara's body and began to cry when Patterson and two police officers entered. Patterson watched Jax's bodies and pistols lying on the floor.

Season Seven

At the beginning of season 7 we see Jax trying to overcome Tara's death. He is proven detained in Stockton's prison with parole for the weapons he had when he was arrested, as well as a suspect for the deaths of Tara and Eli. He used his time at Stockton to cruelly beat a rat for Aryan Brotherhood Tully leader, to forge a partnership with them. He was later visited by District Attorney Patterson, who tried to dissuade him from retaliatory thoughts before letting him go, because the police could not connect him with the murder, and his weapon from the crime scene was determined not to be fired.

Gemma told Jax that she saw two Chinese men leaving Tara's house the night Tara and Eli were killed and pinning the murder on one of Lin's thugs at a party held by Jax for the Irish and Chinese. Jax then kidnaps the man, takes him to an empty house, and tells him that he will suffer because of Tara's death. He then tortures men with various tools, including hammers and by drying his wounds, before killing him by riding a fork on his head.

In the next episode of "Toil and Till", SAMCRO meets the Indian Hills charter as well as two rented weapons that are carried as muscles. Jax outlines for the Jury his plans to destroy Lin and Lin's club: cutting off all Chinese sources of income, isolating and making him desperate, and then ending it, slowly and painfully. The Jax team then hijacked Chinese weapons shipments and stole weapons. That night, Jax, Bobby, and Chibs stop by the apartments of the locals who helped them hijack the shipments. After making sure they were alone, the boys shot both men, then staged a scene, planted a kilo of Lin heroin and made it look like they were shooting each other. Bobby then calls to report to Lin that they find the men in charge.

In the episode of "Playing with Monsters" Jax was visited by August Marks, who had previously warned Jax against retaliation against China, as it would harm the business. He questioned whether SAMCRO was involved with piracy, which Jax denied. August warns Jax not to cross it, or he will destroy Jax's club. To get around this, Jax decides to help Niners become independent of Marks so they can remove it as an obstacle. SAMCRO gave Niners some of his stolen heroin and killed a gang member who recruited the competition, to get them Niners on their side. In "Poor Little Lambs" Jax meets Tully to help Niners move heroin, but Tully claims Jax will need to talk to Lieutenant Leland about working with blacks. This went poorly, as they were followed by two sheriffs who were AB shooting, killing one sheriff and leaving the other seriously injured. Later in the episode, SAMCRO retaliated China when a grenade was thrown out of the men's ice cream shop, and several Chinese armed men entered Diosa and killed the guards and guests in attendance. The Sons also learned that the warehouse where they kept the Chinese weapons was robbed and West, the club member who guarded him, was killed.

In "Some Strange Eruptions", Jax proved guilty of innocent people killed by the Chinese. He finds out that someone told Lin where to find their stolen weapons. Nero then visits Jax, saying Lin has threatened him to hand over Jax or he will kill Nero's son and Nero. Jax and Chibs managed to lure Lin and his men into an ambush where Barosky's police locked up Lin's men, allowing Jax to fight Lin one on one. During their fight, with Jax on the wind, Jax blasts Lin on charges of his role in Tara's death, which Lin continues to deny. The San Joaquin sheriff arrived shortly thereafter and arrested Lin on charges of arms and drugs.

In "Smoke Em if You Got Em" Jax knows that August has learned about their plans against him and plans to attack. SAMCRO decided to take the East Dub crew to be used in August to protect the club. Alvarez told Jax that Juice had approached him, offering intel to Mayan at SAMCRO in exchange for a safe trip to Mexico. Jax and Alvarez negotiated instead of Juice to SAMCRO in exchange for surrendering the arms business to the Mayans, once Marks was forced out.

The next episode shows Jax and the club working with the wife and son of a corrupt priest, Sons mistakenly murdered, whom August has tried to blackmail in real estate fraud. SOA asked the mother to sign a declaration stating that August killed the priest, and they attached pictures of his body at the construction site Pope Industries. When Sons tried to blackmail August, he kidnapped Bobby and looked away and sent him to Sons, to show them that August was in power. When the Children did not immediately obey the demands of August, the August man cut off Bobby's fingers and sent him to Jax.

After Marks kills Bobby and is subsequently arrested, Jax realizes that the time has come to fulfill his father's legacy and bring the club fully into a legitimate venture. But his plan almost slipped when his eldest son Abel asked him the question that made Jax realize that Gemma killed Tara, not the crew member Lin who killed Jax. Unser confirmed the story the next morning, saying Lin's man was in a Las Vegas drunken tank on the night Tara was killed. Jax Make a meeting with Juice to make sure that Gemma is the one who actually killed Tara.

With the club and Sheriff Jarry searching for Gemma, Jax headed for Stockon to face Juice, who, while weeping, told of the events that caused Tara and Eli Roosevelt's death. With the news and confirmation that Barosky told August of the weapons, Jax called on several SoA presidential boards. He explains to them that he killed Jury White because he thought the jury had betrayed the club; the president recommended Mayhem's vote. Jax stated his club would be on board and cast the appropriate vote, provided "not written by law" was thrown out. The presidents approved Jax's request, which allowed blacks to be patched into the SoA charters.

Jax then receives word from Wendy that a nursing home has contacted him, stating that Gemma was there trying to visit his father. Jax goes to his grandfather's house in Oregon and finds Unser trying to capture Gemma, in an effort to save him from Jax. Jax begs Unser to leave. Unser declined, stating "It's all that's left", and Jax shot him dead.

Gemma leads Jax out into the garden (where he sits with his father, in season 2), where he tells Jax that he has to kill her. "It's who we are," he said. In tears, Jax hesitates at first, but eventually shoots his mother behind the head. He leaves Unser and Gemma's body as they lie back and return home to Captivate, remove Nike bleeding, and have sex with Wendy.

In the final series, "Papa's Goods", Jax awoke and made arrangements at home and garage. He visited the storage unit, and burned his father's manuscripts and pads that Jax had written over the years; then visited Opie's grave, where she left her SONS ring. For the first time, he also visited Tara's plot and kissed the headstone, having left his wedding ring on top.

Having voted on the former president of Grim Bravy T.O. Cross as a member of the club's first black patch, Jax told Chibs that another president called for a Mayhem vote. He insisted that Chibs follow his instructions for the benefit of the Jax family and the club. Chib reluctantly agreed.
