"Alhamdulillah saya Anak Negara" , also known as "Children's Country" , is a song written by John Martin Sommers and recorded by American singer/songwriter John Denver.
The song was originally included on the 1974 album in Denver Back Home Again .
The live-recorded version of August 26, 1974, at Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles was included in his 1975 An Evening with John Denver album.
The live version was released as a single and went to No. 1 on both Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles and Billboard Hot 100 charts. The song occupies two charts for each one week, first country chart (on May 31), and a Hot 100 chart a week later. Alhamdulillah Aku Anak Negara is also the name of various special events hosted by Denver in 1977.
"Alhamdulillah I'm a Child of the Country" is one of six songs released in 1975 that topped the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard Hot Singles Nation charts. Two sides hit Denver "I'm Sorry"/"Calypso" also accepts the difference.

The song was written by John Martin Sommers, a guitar player/banjo/fiddle/mandolin in the reserve band of Denver, on December 31, 1973 (coincidence of Denver's thirtieth birthday) as he drove from his home in Aspen, Colorado to Los Angeles.
The song is very similar to the 1973 song by Arlo Guthrie, from his album "Last of the Brooklyn Cowboys", entitled "Uncle Jeff."

Content
Sommers recalled that at that moment he felt "peaceful, happy, and contented" with his life, and began to write some notes about the happy state along the way. They serve as inspiration for the song.
Structure
The song is cut in (2/2) a typical time of two steps. Both verses and chorus consist of eight steps with 3/2 added between the first four steps and the last three steps. Emotionally, this creates a small kiosk intended.
