Taco Trucks In Every Mosque (also #TacoTrucksAtEveryMosque ) is a community initiative started in Orange County, California that aims to unite Muslim and Latin communities through food sharing. It was the idea of ââRida Hamida and Ben Vazquez. The first event took place on 3 June 2017 and has been going on across California, in Mexico and Milwaukee.

Histori
While Latinos currently make up about a third of the population of Orange County and there are 120,000 Muslims, the two minority groups do not have much political power. By 2016, both groups of people see an increase in documented hate crimes against their communities. Also in 2016, Marco Gutierrez of the Latinos for Trump group said, "You'll have a taco truck on every corner." When Donald Trump won the presidency, there was an increase in the number of anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim feelings in American culture. After Trump won, Rida Hamida, a Muslim from Anaheim, and Benjamin Vazquez, who was a Latino from Santa Ana, met and started a discussion about what Muslims and Latinos could learn from each other. Hamida and Vasquez think about taco truck ideas and about bringing Muslims to Mexican restaurants. In the end, they decided to bring a taco truck to the mosque. Using a taco truck (or loncheras ) is also a way to empower the Latins. Taco Trucks At Every Mosque is also a way for two minority communities to get to know each other and fight the fear of the immigrant community.
The first event, breaking the fast, took place on June 3, 2017 at the Islamic Center Santa Ana and was attended by 600 people. Halal tacos are given free to people attending iftar. The second event, a few weeks later in the Orange County Islamic Society, was attended by 1,400 people. The groups raise money to pay for tacos and by 2017, visit every mosque in Orange County during Ramadan. Since Ramadan is also a time for charity, the taco truck plan is perfect. Although the event focuses on Latino and Muslim communities, everyone is welcome. One person who attended the second event hoped that Taco Trucks At Every Mosque would inspire more Muslims to come to the Latino event. Hamida and Vazquez promote the event on Twitter with a tagline, #TacoTrucksAtEveryMosque.

Legacy
The Taco Trucks At Every mosque event has taken place in the community from Baja California in Mexico to Sacramento. They also occur during Eid al-Adha. The incident has inspired a mosque in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Islamic Society, to copy the idea. Marco Gutierrez even posted a video on his Instagram, saying "I'm trying to warn you. #TacoTrucksOnEveryCorning [ sic ] has mutated to #TacoTrucksatEveryMosque!"
