The racing pickup truck is a form of auto racing involving a modified version of pickup trucks on race tracks, mostly oval tracks. The race pickup truck is mechanically similar to a coupe-shaped car, with the main difference being the more box-shaped cab shape, which does not provide good aerodynamics like stock cars.

NASCAR Vehicles Camping World Truck Series has grown rapidly since the commencement of the series in 1995, in terms of speed, aerodynamics, and machine tools. The NASCAR series was also the first to use this type of vehicle, launched in 1994.

History

The concept of pickup truck racing began in 1983 when former NASCAR racer Buck Baker founded the National Pickup Trick Racing Association to help Buck Baker Driving School graduates start their careers. The series, which does not plan to have a point system, has a planned ten race schedule with the intention to sell the series to NASCAR. The trucks were built with NASCAR Winston Cup Series 1981 bases; Carburetor Series The four-barrel cup is reduced to two to reduce speed. The series began to increase in popularity, and the schedule was upgraded to eleven races. After the season ended, Baker's attempts to sell the series to NASCAR were rejected, and sold to Dick Moroso, with the series being re-branded as the All Truck Coro Trucks All-Pro Pickup Truck.

In 1991, SCORE International drivers Dick Landfield, Jimmy Smith, Jim Venable and Frank "Scoop" Vessels announced plans to create a series of pickup trucks for NASCAR. Three years later, the trucks were launched in Daytona 500 1994, and were officially created as the SuperTruck Series. After holding seven exhibition races, the series held its first season in 1995. The series, now known as the World Truck Driving Series, is one of three national series approved by NASCAR (in addition to the Monster Energy Cup Series and Xfinity Series).
