Histori

The initial version of the app for truckers was developed by Viktor Radchenko who was inspired to make it after hearing his truck driver friends complain about the difficulties they face when finding the truck stop. Trucker Path is the fourth application developed by Radchenko since moving to Silicon Valley from his home country of Ukraine in 2010. Before creating Trucker Path, he has no direct involvement in the freight industry. [8] [9]

The initial beta version of this app was launched in February 2013, and in August has reached 50,000 weekly active users. [10] In October 2013, Radchenko began working with Ivan Tsybaev to formally establish the company, with Tsybaev acting as the organization's first CEO and Radchenko as chief technology officer. Tsybaev imagined the company to be a freight transportation market. To build the user base, he decided to focus on positioning Trucker Path as a crowdsourced navigation assistant that would make it easier for truck drivers to plan their trips by helping them find truck stops, parking spaces, rest rooms, washing machines and other POIs. Initially, the app focused on providing truck information primarily to the United States but has since added locations throughout Canada. [11] [12] [13]

In the 2013 LA Auto Show, Trucker Path was named one of eight finalists for Fastpitch, a competition for car-related startups. In February 2014, Radchenko left his job as chief technology officer at Trucker Path. [14]

In September 2014, the company raised $ 1.5 million in initial funding from Renren, a China-based social media company founded by an American citizen and MIT/Stanford graduate, Joseph Chen. Renren prefers to invest in US companies that have the potential to expand into China. [15] Their other investments include SoFi, digital finance and p2p lending company, and secure Swiss-Israel mobile phone company Sirin Labs.

In June 2015, Trucker Path collected $ 20 million in a Series A round of Chicago-based Wicklow Capital. [16] [17] This round involves follow-up partners, the social media giant of China, Renren. [18]

In July 2015, Trucker Path released Truckloads, a B2B marketplace specializing in connecting transport brokers to operators. [19] [20] [21] Initially, apps were only available by invitation. [22] Between July 2015 and February 2016, Truckloads are available as a public beta. [23]

As of February 2017, the reading app exceeds 250,000 downloads on Google Play and the App Store. The app has InstaPay, a payment system that guarantees payments to approved drivers within 24 hours. [24]

Dana Trucker Path also includes $ 30 million in debt financing secured through Flexible Funding which, according to the company, is used to fund its factoring service InstaPay for owners and small fleets operators.

According to CEO Ivan Tsybaev, the popularity of Trucker Path and other truck applications is correlated with smartphone adoption rates in the industry. He believes that the main effect of this app will replace dispatchers for owner-operator drivers.
