Military vehicles are vehicles that cover all land battles and transport vehicles, designed for or significantly used by military forces. Many military vehicles have vehicle license plates or off-road capabilities or both. Under the Geneva Conventions, all non-combat military vehicles such as field ambulances and first aid stations should be marked correctly and clearly. In theory under convention, the vehicle is then legally immune from deliberate attacks by all combatants. Subtypes that have become increasingly prominent since the late 20th century are improvised combat vehicles, and often seen in irregular battles.
