Camote cue or camote fritter (Tagalog: Kamote kyu ) is a popular Filipino snack made from camote yam). The wedge camote is coated with brown sugar and then fried to cook potatoes and sugar caramel. This is one of the most common street food in the Philippines, along with banana and turon gestures.
The term is a portmanteau of "camote " and "barbecue", the latter in Filipino English refers to meat cooked in a style similar to a kebab. Although served with a skewer on a bamboo stem, it is not cooked on top of the stick. It's pure for easier handling because it's usually sold in the streets for people to go by.
