USA Truck , Inc., established on September 29, 1986, is a cargo truck that provides general commodity transportation throughout the continent of the United States and in and out of parts of Mexico and Canada. The Company operates through two segments: Trucking and Logistics. The company carries a load of dry, loaded van trailers from origin to destination without stopping or further handling. The company offers a wide range of trucking and logistics services to a customer base that spans across industries. The Company's fleet of 1,622 tractors consists of 1313 corporate tractors and 309 independent contractor tractors. The company has about 5,500 trailers. The company also transports general commodities into and out of Mexico by enabling a through-trailer service from its terminal in Laredo, Texas.
The Trucking segment consists of trucking and special delivery services. Truckload provides services as medium-to long-range public transport. Special delivery provides trucking services to specific customers for delivery via specific routes in particular. Cargo trucking services use equipment or equipment owned by an independent contractor's company for the collection and delivery of goods. The Company's truck segment is supported primarily by driver managers, load planners, and customer service representatives.
The Logistics Segment consists of brokerage and rail intermodal services. Both of these service offerings correspond to customer shipments with equipment available from authorized carriers and provide services that complement the Company's transport operations. The company provides this service primarily to existing truck customers, many of whom prefer to rely on one operator, or a small group of operators, to provide all of their transport solutions. USAT Logistics has a network of about six regional offices, located across the continent of the United States.

History
The company started in 1983 as Crawford Produce, Inc. (CPI) with fewer than 10 operating tractors. CPI was incorporated under the name USA Truck in September 1986 and purchased by management in January 1989. Initial public offering of Truk USA common stock was completed in March 1992. Today, USA Truck is one of the largest over-the-road Truck trucks in the country this is the operator. The company's distinctive white tractor and trailer bar and star logo is a tribute to our country's military from one of USA Truck's founders, a former military aviator. Under the banner, the company provides capacity solutions for its vast customer base throughout North America.
USA Truck celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2018. In 2014, to improve on-boarding, orientation, and driver recruitment, Truck USA HR departments move from legacy imaging systems to document management systems; pursue more than a year of documents requiring scanning and indexing. In 2015, as part of an expanding branding initiative, marketing group Truck USA launched a new collection of logos and launched a new company website (usa-truck.com) to reflect its growth as a capacity solutions provider.
In April 2016, USA piloted the Strategic Capacity Solution (SCS), its lightweight logistics business, to USAT Logistics. The name change is one of the first steps in the USA Truck strategy to better recognize the value of its assets business through expanded 3PL offerings, market share gains, and aggressive revenue growth. USAT Logistics accounts for 30% of USA Truck's operating revenues by 2015.

Fleet
The Truck USA fleet consists of over 1,600 tractors and 5,500 dry-van trailers. The trucks are Kenworth, Navistar International ProStar and Freightliner Cascadia tractor with Cummins engine, and an average age of 32 months. All company trucks are equipped with PeopleNet satellite communications with in-cab email and turn-by-turn navigation. All USA Truck trailers are 53Ã, ft (16 m) dry-vans; the company does not operate flatbed, refrigerated trailer or tanker trailers. The company's ongoing fleet revitalization program is intended to reduce fleet life and improve overall performance through reduced maintenance costs and improved fuel efficiency and operations.
