El Pollo Loco is the name of two independent restaurant chains controlled by different companies, El Pollo Loco, Inc. and El Pollo Loco, S.A. de C.V. United States

El Pollo Loco, Inc. is a chain of restaurants based in the United States, specializing in Mexican-style roasted chicken. The history of the Mexican chain

Controversy

In January 2016, SecretarÃÆ'a de Salud de Nuevo LeÃÆ'³n, Ministry of Health for Mexican state Nuevo LeÃÆ'³n, closed several locations of El Pollo Loco franchises for some health code violations. At least one of those locations is owned by Mexican politician Marco GonzÃÆ'¡lez who claims that the closure was politically motivated.
