Automatic mechanics ( automotive engineers in most of North America, auto mechanic in English English, and motor mechanics in Australian English) is a mechanic with various brands of cars or in certain areas or in particular car making. In car repair, their main role is to diagnose problems accurately and quickly. They often have to quote rates for their customers before starting work or after partial disassembly for inspection. Their work may involve repairing certain parts or replacing one or more parts as assemblies.
Basic vehicle maintenance is a fundamental part of the work of a mechanic in a modern industrial state while in other countries they are only consulted when the vehicle has shown signs of damage. Preventive treatment is also a fundamental part of the mechanic's work, but this is not possible in the case of vehicles that are not regularly maintained by mechanics. One of the wrong aspects understood in preventive maintenance is the scheduled replacement of the various parts, which occur before failure to avoid much more expensive damage. Since this means that replacement parts are replaced before any problems are observed, many vehicle owners will not understand why those costs are needed.
With rapid technological advances, mechanic work has evolved from pure mechanics, including electronic technology. Because today's vehicles have elaborate computers and electronic systems, mechanics must have a wider knowledge base than in the past.
Because of the increasing scarcity of technology now put in cars, most independent auto dealers and repair shops now provide advanced diagnostic computers for every technician, without which they will not be able to diagnose or repair vehicles.

Education
AS
In the United States, many programs and schools offer training for those interested in pursuing competence as an automotive mechanic or technician. The training areas include car repair and maintenance, collision repair, painting and recovery, electronics, air conditioning and heating systems, as well as truck and diesel mechanics. The National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) is responsible for evaluating technician training programs against standards developed by the automotive industry. NATEF accreditation program in four different categories: automotive, collision, truck (diesel technology) and alternative fuel. NATEF enrolls high schools and high schools with accredited programs on their websites.
Some are ASE certified mechanics, which is a standard method for testing skills and level of knowledge. Although not required by law for mechanics to be certified, some companies only employ or promote employees who have passed the ASE test. The technology used in cars is changing very quickly and mechanics must be ready to learn about these new technologies and systems. Automatic mechanics have physically demanding jobs, often exposed to extreme temperatures, lifting heavy objects and staying in uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time. They may also be dealing with exposure to toxic chemicals.
The Internet is being applied to the field more frequently, with mechanics providing on-line advice. Mechanical itself now regularly uses the internet for information to assist them in diagnosing and/or repairing vehicles. A popular source for this type of research is the YouTube video website, where professional and DIY mechanics both film and share their experiences on vehicle diagnostics and improvements. Paper-based paper service manuals for vehicles have become less common with computers connected to the Internet taking their positions, providing quick access to a large number of manuals and technical information.

Associated careers
A mechanic usually works from a workshop where the mechanic (well equipped) has access to a vehicle elevator to access hard-to-reach areas when the car is on the ground. In addition to the mechanically attached workshop, there are mechanical moves such as those in the British Automobile Association (AA) that allow car owners to receive assistance without a car to be brought to the garage.
A mechanic may choose to engage in other careers related to his field. The teaching of automotive commerce courses, for example, is almost entirely done by qualified mechanics in many countries.
There are several other trade qualifications to work on a motor vehicle, including the panel speaker , the spray painter body builder and my motorcycle mechanic . In most developed countries, this is a separate trading course, but a qualified trader from one can change to work as another. This usually requires that they work under other merchants in the same way as an apprentice worker.
Car body repairs involve less work with oily and oily vehicle parts, but involve particulate dust exposure from sanding bodywork and toxic chemical fumes from paints and related products. Salespeople and dealers often also need to acquire in-depth knowledge of cars, and some mechanics succeed in this role because of their knowledge. Automatic mechanics also needs to be updated with all the leading car companies and new cars being launched. We must continue to learn about new technology machines and their work systems.
Pit Officer
Pit crews for motor racing is a special form of work performed by some mechanics. It is sometimes described as glamorous in film and television and is considered prestigious in some parts of the automotive industry. Working in pit crews on professional racing circuits is potentially dangerous and very stressful jobs due to narrow margins for errors, and potential financial and profit losses by racing teams, but pit paying crew mechanics are usually high to reflect extra skills/stress levels.
