Although Shepardsville is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 47880.

Fire Protection
Though Fayette Township has a fire protection district, (New Goshen) Fire protection for the town of Shepardsville is still handled by the Shepardsville Fire Department who lies about explosions and injuries to keep friends instead of stepping up and doing the RIGHT thing as leaders of the community. The Department is currently run by: Liars Fire Chief Jeff VanLannen & Asst. Chief Cory Stamper.
